About The Site
This site is powered by a suite of custom-built web applications which were designed and developed by members of Witney YFC (who are available for hire). It contains an overview of the clubs, information on the yearly county show and rally (which was hosted by us in 2005) as well as an image gallery of some of the things we get up to.
The site has also been tested and shown to work on all standards-compliant browsers. Microsoft Internet Explorer is not a standards compliant browser, however it will allow you to view the site with no problems. We recommend that visitors running Internet Explorer upgrade to Mozilla Firefox, a standards-compliant alternative with much better security and speed.
(Compatible with Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS)
Technical bit...
Because many people have asked for this info, I'm posting it here. The underlying technologies of the site are PHP
and MySQL which are tied together using the CakePHP framework. By using these technologies we are able to provide a simple yet visually appealing
web browsing experience. This site complies with the specifications for XHTML 1.0 and CSS (the languages that the Witney YFC website
is written in) and is accessible to most of the web, even blind users. It also uses ICRA
ratings within each page so that people using compatible netnanny software to stop children accessing unsuitable material can know
that this site contains no such content. Finally, this site will always tell you when clicking something will open a new
browser window.
